Zyprexa, or Olanzapine, is a prescription drug that is manufactured and marketed by Eli Lilly & Co. As an anti-psychotic drug, Zyprexa is used to treat schizophrenia, bipolar mania, and other mental disorders. Zyprexa is the highest selling and most common schizophrenia drug in the world.
In order to treat people suffering from mental disorders, Zyprexa blocks the serotonin and dopamine receptors in the brain. By doing this, Zyprexa is supposed to lessen hallucinations and psychotic episodes.
