Please Note: The pharmaceutical liability attorneys at the James Esparaza law firm have represented countless clients in the Utah area who have been harmed by dangerous drugs, and we can help you, too. However, at this time, we are only accepting pharmaceutical liability cases for the following drugs: Levaquin, Yaz and Yasmin, and Transvaginal Mesh Patches. The link here indicates the drug cases we are no longer accepting so that we may focus our time and resources on victims who have been harmed by Levaquin, Yaz/Yasmin and the Transvaginal patches.
Prempro is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) designed to relieve menopause symptoms such as hot flashes, dryness, depression and osteoporosis.
Used by more than six million women, Prempro contains the hormone estrogen combined with progestin (progesterone). It was originally thought that this combination would mitigate the risks of taking estrogen alone, but this turned out to be wildly inaccurate, as a clinical trial by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of more than 16,000 women showed. Lawsuits against Wyeth-Ayerst, the makers of Prempro, include allegations of injury and death as a result of increased risks of invasive breast cancer, heart attacks and coronary heart disease, stroke and pulmonary embolism.
Wyeth Pharmaceuticals is one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies, with $888 million in sales from Prempro and Premarin alone. Those filing lawsuits are seeking not only compensation and reimbursement, but are also asking that the public be informed about the risks, and that medical services be provided for treatment and testing for any problems.
